As a children’s cook book author, hundreds of mothers come up to me and ask me the same question, “How do we make our kids eat vegetables?” Children and green vegetables are like opposite poles. They would eat all the fried and sweet stuff but give them vegetables and they go like boom. I can understand it really well because I have three kids and they all were like that. But thank God, not anymore!

This is what inspired me to write a children’s cook book. I used to be worried about my kids not getting proper nutrients from food and then I came up with these great ideas. The most effective one is the focaccia pizza. Pizzas are loved by all and my kids could eat it for all the three meals of the day. I use multigrain flour for the dough and put lots of different vegetables as toppings with lots of cheese on it. It is very easy to make and pretty healthy too.

Another recipe I personally like is made with pita bread. I cut open the bread in to two halves and fill the insides of it with beans or sprouts with salad vegetables and serve it with homemade mayo and spicy garlic sauce. The spicy sauce goes really well with the otherwise non spicy salad.

People often tell me that I am quite creative with food. But I believe that these ideas are not about being creative, it just comes automatically to a mother. So I suggest, just experiment and enjoy with food and serve a healthy meal to your family.
